A stainless steel Wedge Wire Strainer , also known as a wedge wire filter, wedge wire screen pipe, or Johnson screen, is a precision filtration and screening product made by welding stainless steel wires.

Its core feature lies in its unique V-shaped (wedge-shaped) wire structure. During manufacturing, stainless steel wires with a V-shaped cross-section are welded onto circular or square support rods using a special welding technique, forming uniform and precise slots.

This design provides a smooth surface and trapezoidal slot openings—narrower at the filtration surface and wider toward the inside of the screen. Such a structure effectively prevents particles from becoming trapped in the slots, thereby enhancing filtration efficiency and throughput while minimizing clogging.
