What Is a Hydraulic Screen
A hydraulic screen is a solid–liquid separation device that utilizes water flow dynamics in combination with a mechanical sieve bend screen. Through the screening action driven by the water flow, it efficiently separates particles of different sizes.
The main body of a hydraulic screen consists of a stainless-steel curved sieve bend screen made of wedge wire. The screen surface is smooth and flat, with narrow, smooth openings on the screening surface and wider openings on the back side, allowing smooth drainage and minimizing the risk of clogging.
Working Principle:
The wastewater to be treated is evenly distributed onto the curved screen surface via a distribution system at the top of the unit. Solid particles are retained on the screen surface, while the filtered water passes through the screen slots. Under the action of gravity and water flow, the retained solids are conveyed downward along the screen and discharged at the lower end, thereby achieving effective solid–liquid separation.
Five Key Technical Features of Hydraulic Screens
-
High Separation Efficiency
With a specially designed screen structure and optimized flow guidance, solid–liquid separation efficiency can reach 90%–95%. -
Automatic Cleaning
Some advanced models are equipped with self-cleaning systems, using reverse water flow or mechanical scrapers to automatically remove blockages, significantly reducing maintenance requirements. -
Energy-Free Operation
The system operates solely by gravity and water flow, requiring no external power source and no energy consumption. -
Strong Adaptability
Screen specifications and operating parameters can be adjusted to suit different material characteristics, such as viscosity, particle size distribution, and concentration. -
Continuous Operation
The robust structural design supports 24-hour continuous operation, meeting the demands of industrial-scale continuous production.
