Wedge Wire Panel
The welded wedge wire panel is a mature and traditional type of screening panel. It is primarily composed of a stainless steel screen mesh and a frame made from stainless steel flat iron or Q235-A carbon steel flat iron.
The stainless steel screen mesh is welded using a roller resistance welding machine. The wedge wire and support rods, which are rolled into different or identical cross-sections, are welded together using resistance heat and current, a process known as contact resistance welding.
The wedge wire panel consists of a screening surface, longitudinal or transverse support rods, and a frame. Its structural forms include longitudinal rod, welded, and woven types. The slot size of the screen is typically around 0.5 mm, with an open area rate of about 15% to 25%.
This type of screen panel has certain advantages, such as a high open area rate and reduced likelihood of clogging. However, it also has some disadvantages. The screen bars are generally made from spring steel, which has lower hardness, resulting in a shorter service life. Increasing the hardness of the screen bars can lead to them breaking easily.
