How Does Wedge Wire Strainer Work

The wedge wire strainer (also known as candle filter) is available in two types: inward flow and outward flow.

It is composed of "V"-shaped wedge wire and stainless steel support bars. The smooth surface of the filter pipe serves as the filtration surface, with the gaps being strip-shaped, and it belongs to a surface filtration form.

As one of the best filtration elements, it is widely used in fluid filtration across various industries and is considered one of the best filtering elements to date. It is an ideal filtration component for various types of automatic filters (such as automatic backwash, scraper self-cleaning, scraper disc self-cleaning, and suction self-cleaning filters, etc.).

Materials:

Carbon steel, low-carbon steel strips, high-manganese steel wire, stainless steel wire, stainless steel 304, 304L, 316, 316L, and can be customized according to customer requirements.

Manufacturing Process:

Wedge wire strainer tubes are made from cold-rolled stainless steel wire mesh. The support bars are welded using automated mining screen production equipment, resulting in high welding strength, uniform gaps, smooth surfaces, and no burrs or sharp edges on the filter tube. This ensures perfect roundness.

Due to the special wedge wire structure, compared to sintered mesh filter tubes and other filter elements, the wedge wire strainer offers advantages such as resistance to clogging, easy backwashing, and a longer service life. It is a perfect replacement for other filter tubes.

The filtration precision of wedge wire strainers ranges from 0.02mm to 2mm, and they can achieve fully enclosed automatic filtration, meeting food hygiene certification standards.
