What is a Rotary Drum Screen
A rotary drum screen is a self-cleaning device designed to meet the growing demand for filtration.
This screen can efficiently and economically remove suspended solids from mixed liquids. Stainless steel wedge wire rotary drum screens are commonly used in various filtration equipment, such as scraper filters, rotary fine filters, and juicers.
The stainless steel wedge wire rotary drum screen is a cylindrical "V"-shaped wedge wire screen, made of stainless steel V-shaped wires and support rods. Since wedge wire rotary drum screens operate under high pressure during separation and filtration, they are reinforced with additional support rods for structural strength.
The ends of the drum screen are welded with flanges or rings for easy installation. The slot size and structure can be customized based on different materials and working conditions.
Wedge wire rotary drum screens are primarily used for microfiltration. They can efficiently separate fine suspended impurities such as animal hair, grease, fibers, pulp, and paper from water.
Working Principles and Steps:
-
Industrial wastewater to be filtered is transported through a pipeline to the rotary drum screen, where the liquid is evenly sprayed under pressure onto the wedge wire drum screen.
-
The wedge wire drum screen continuously rotates within the filter, capturing and retaining suspended solids from the liquid.
-
As the wedge wire drum screen rotates, solid impurities gradually accumulate and concentrate together.
-
The impurities are slowly removed from the screen through rotation. If the impurities are flocculent, they also clean the screen surface while moving with the rotary drum, ensuring the screen remains unobstructed.
